Ongelofelijk Cristi is met al de kinderen in Oostenrijk

Mini  Guide to a Holiday Abroad

How many families can afford a holiday? Not many. Holidays are expensive. A holiday abroad is even more expensive.
It takes 2 parents both with jobs and good jobs and then they can take the children out for a week somewhere. They need to save money a whole year and put aside a good budget for a family holiday. If the trip is out of the country the effort is even bigger. So most of the holidays are in the country and short.  1 week seems like a good time to relax and 2 weeks is a luxury.
I know families who can afford only a weekend in a cheap camping and that is it.
I know families who never went on holiday. They can not afford any.
The longer the holiday the more expensive it is, the further the place to go  the more expensive is the trip, the bigger the family the more expensive are the costs.
So my conclusion are these:
1. go away only for a weekend or even better 2 night in the week time as prices are cheaper
2. go as close as possible to your house, 2 hours drive max.
3. do not take the children. :-)

What if you have 20 children to take care and  for the past 7 years they never been on a holiday? What if someone would come up and said we can help you take the 20 children on a holiday.

What we have this year?
1. Is the holiday long?   2 full weeks, everyday full with events.
2. Is the holiday far?   Austria. 1380 km away from us.
3. We have taken all our 20 children.
A church from Austria invited all of our children and the staff to go for 2 a weeks holiday. So there are 26 of us in total and we are going on our longest trip and furthest trip ever. Never expected this. We used to dream of a short and close holiday but never like this.
We find no reason why such a blessing came upon us. God spoils His children sometimes just because He likes to do so. So this time we are His spoiled ones and we can not thank Him enough.
We will have a great time with friends in Austria and will keep you informed and send you pictures, just pray for us.

Thanks so much for all your support, Cristi
